Kamour & Co was founded in 2014 by the Kamour sisters, Mila and Tete, bridging the continents with their love of fashion from Mila's home in New York City to Tete's in Guinea, West Africa.

The sisters started designing clothes for themselves as young teenagers in Guinea out of neccesity when they couldnʼt find designs with the proper fit and style. They picked the most jaw dropping traditional fabrics from the local markets and selected from the many local tailors to make their designs come to life. Influenced by Western fashion magazines and catalogues, French TV and films, and West African prints and fabrics, they were driven by their imagination to make clothes no one else was wearing.

Gradually, they created their unique clothing for friends and family in both Guinea and the U.S.

Mila came to the attention of many after being spotted by Humans of New York, Brandon Stanton, while with her daughter, Habiba, in matching outfits of the sisters' design.

Tete owns and runs Peau dʻ Ange Salon in Conakry, Guinea, and recently won Tropheeʼs Aske awarded to women leaders making an impact in Africa for her nonprofit Eben which educates women about the dangers of bleaching and changing skin pigmentaion.
